Why You Should Buy a Bulk Beef

Quality You Can Taste
When you buy a quarter cow of beef, you're investing in premium quality meat directly from a local farm. Unlike grocery store cuts, your beef is typically grass-fed, hormone-free, and processed with care. The taste is richer, and you have the peace of mind knowing exactly where your food comes from.

Cost Savings
Purchasing a quarter cow is a smart financial move. While the upfront cost might seem significant, the price per pound is often much lower than what you'd pay for individual cuts at the store. Over time, you'll save money by buying in bulk and reducing the need for frequent trips to the grocery store.

Variety of Cuts
With a quarter cow, you get a wide variety of cuts, from steaks and roasts to ground beef and stew meat. This means your family can enjoy a diverse range of meals, and you'll be prepared for everything from quick weeknight dinners to special occasions.

Support Local Farmers
When you purchase a quarter cow, you're directly supporting local farmers who raise their cattle with care. This choice helps sustain small-scale agriculture, promotes ethical farming practices, and contributes to your local economy.

How Much Space You Need to Store a Quarter Cow
A quarter cow typically yields between 100 to 110 pounds of beef. To store this amount, you'll need around 4 to 5 cubic feet of freezer space. A standard chest or upright freezer should be sufficient. It's important to plan ahead and ensure your freezer is at the right temperature (0°F or lower) to keep the beef fresh and maintain its quality over time.

How Long Will It Last?
For an average family of four, a quarter cow of beef can last anywhere from 4 to 6 months, depending on your family's consumption habits. If your family enjoys beef regularly—around 2 to 3 times per week—you can expect it to last on the shorter end of that range. If beef is consumed less frequently, it could last closer to six months or even longer.
